Month 1: Getting Started
This first month focuses on the essential building blocks. You’ll become familiar with your guitar, learn its parts, how to hold it correctly, and how to tune it. We’ll cover basic strumming techniques, introduce you to rhythm, and start simple finger exercises to build strength and dexterity.
Month 2: Open Chords
Month two introduces you to the exciting world of chords. You’ll learn essential open major and minor chords, including E Major, C Major, A Major, D Major, G Major, E Minor, A Minor, and D Minor. You’ll also learn to read chord diagrams, a crucial skill for learning new chords and songs.
Month 3: Chord Shifting
Building on your open chord knowledge, month three focuses on mastering chord shifting techniques. You’ll learn to smoothly transition between open chords, expanding your playing capabilities and allowing you to play more complex chord progressions. You’ll also learn the F Major and B Major chords.
Month 4: Combining Chords and Strumming
Month four brings together your chord and rhythm skills. You’ll refine your chord shifting and learn your first strumming patterns. We’ll also introduce the metronome to help you develop accurate timing and rhythm. You will learn to combine chords and strumming to play simple songs.
Month 5: Expanding Strumming Patterns

Month 6: Barre Chords
The final month culminates in the introduction of barre chords, a powerful technique that unlocks countless new chords and musical possibilities. You’ll learn the fundamental barre chord technique, explore related music theory concepts (sharps, flats, etc.), and master several essential barre chord shapes.
